It's the day before Mother's Day. The last two days have been particularly good ones here in the Pierse household.
My Lulu Pea...when you sing with your whole heart, no matter what the song, you bring me such immense joy. (both figuratively, and literally - think Laurie Bernker, Buzz Buzz CD). You are smart as a whip & your curiosity & surprise at the world you are discovering through reading the written word is so much fun to watch. Tonight at the restaurant you read a sign, "have a beer with your burger" and you just cracked up. I love watching your discoveries. I promise to nurture them, and to do my best to mother you through both the good ones & the bad.
My GusGus...your sparkly eyes, mischievous grin & two armed tight bear hugs nearly bring me to tears. You are such a dichotomy...so sensitive and tenderhearted, and yet so impulsively physical. Your most frequent line of questioning starts with "how do you make a (car, stroller, trash can, wheels, oven, etc.)"...you are so curious about the everyday world around you. You were definitely born to be a 'big man'. I promise to do my best to nurture your sensitivity, while channeling that physicality into bravery & courage to make you a truly big & good man.
My Huey...your feisty NO!, infectious giggle & sheer stubbornness remind me of your crazy parents. I'm on the edge of my seat, waiting for more & more of your personality emerge. You definitely have the most extreme parts of our personalities...if we can harness them in positive way you are really going to be a force to reckon with. I promise to love you & let you grow into your own person, the best I can.
My love...thank you for making me a mama, three times over. It's the greatest gift you could have ever given me, and my heart is eternally grateful. I promise to love you, and to do the best I can to raise our family in His image.
