the lu worked for days & days raking up pine needles to make a nest for the birds in our yard. she was quite disappointed when we didn't have any takers...but, we decided maybe no birdie moved in because birds like to nest in trees. so then she really wanted to somehow mount the wheelbarrow in a tree, but we convinced her that the wheelbarrow was too heavy. she was pretty bummed until she decided tallulah (our cat) should nest there. alas, tallulah has yet to move in. that said, we are preserving the nest nonetheless, should an animal find itself in need.
gus is less than thrilled that said nest is off limits. he'd really, really like to dump all of those needles out.
